PREVIOUSLY:

“Naruto?” asked Kin, her voice practically breathless, “Are we going to your apartment now?”
“Yeah I guess I’ll have to stop there and pick up some things before we head over to the mansion.”
“Huh?”
“Oh, right. There’s been a change of plans. My apartment is too small for both of us so we’re going to be staying at the Uchiha Mansion with Sasuke.” Kin stared at Naruto, mouth open in shock before she turned to Sasuke in some desperate hope that he was going to correct Naruto but he did not. They watched as slowly the gears turned inside her head, figuring out what Naruto had said.
“WHAT!?” She screamed and Tsunade came rushing out, “TSUNADE-HIME!”

AND NOW:

Chapter Three: House Guests:

“Look, Kin, I know that we had a deal,” said Tsunade.
“Yeah and I should have known better than to expect you to keep your end of it.”
“Hey!”
“We had a very specific deal, Baa-chan, and no where in that deal was it included that I live in the Uchiha mansion!”
“I don’t see what the big problem is – you still get what you want.”
“I don’t want that!” screamed Kin.
“It shouldn’t be a big deal!”
“Well it is!”
“Why!?” screamed Tsunade.
“Well if you had been around when I was growing up you’d know why!”
“Ahh!” they both screamed in unison.
“You will go with them! I order to you to!” yelled Tsunade.
“You can’t order me around!”
“I am the Hokage!”
“Not mine!” yelled Kin, “You can’t stop me from doing anything old hag!”
“Watch your tongue! You better keep your word!”
“Why? You didn’t keep yours!”
“Yes I did!”
“Did not!”
“Did too!”
“Think about what you are doing for once in your goddamned life!”
“Go to hell!”
“You first!” yelled Tsunade.
“Just got back!” screamed Kin.
“Ladies,” said Kakashi hesitantly.
“WHAT!?” they turned and yelled at him together, causing poor Kakashi to jump away. Kin looked at Naruto and Sasuke, who were watching the screaming pair in wide-eyed shock and fear. It was then that she seemed to realize that she was making a fool of herself, throwing her emotions around wildly not caring who got caught in the wake of it all.
“Fine,” said Kin, giving up on her side of the screaming match, “I’ll go with them but -.”
“I will hold you to your word, Kin.”
“Figures, hag.”
“Hold that tongue of yours, brat.” Kin rolled her eyes and grunted at the Hokage before turning to the boys again and marching out the door without even speaking to them. With a nod from Tsunade they followed her, keeping their distance. Sasuke watched her out of curiosity. He’d never seen anyone other than Naruto keep up with Tsunade’s lungs.
“Are you okay?” asked Naruto softly after a few long minutes of following her storming figure through the streets of Konoha. She turned on him immediately her eyes gleamed with rage but they softened when she looked at him.
“It’s just,” she said, tears welling up in those blue eyes, “It’s just been such a long day. So very long.” She took a few ragged breaths trying to calm herself down; her hand finding its way to her forehead as they watched her shake on the spot.
“I can’t even imagine. Is there anything we can do?” The pity in Naruto’s voice stung her visibly. Naruto’s uncanny ability to just care for people was something that Sasuke was all too familiar with and in the pit of his stomach he was a little upset by the fact that Naruto treated a perfect stranger so similar to how he treated him.
“No I -,” before she could finish her stomach growled loudly and she wrapped her arms around it to stifle the noise.
“Dinner then?” asked Sasuke, “What do you want?” Kin looked at both of them.
“I’m pretty sure I’d be willing to kill for some ramen.” Naruto smiled at her and Sasuke groaned on the inside, of course she wanted ramen. So they made their way to Ichiraku’s in silence. When they entered the ramen bar they were greeted with the delightfully warm smell of the noodles and all their dressings and the clanging of dishware and people talking. Kin looked around Ichiraku’s wildly trying to take it all in at once her head darting about the place.
“Have you ever been here before?” asked Naruto.
“Yeah but apparently that was a lifetime ago.” She sat down next to Naruto, her back to the bar looking out at the street her eyes pale and blank. Sasuke got the distinct impression of how unnatural that was for her. He could tell by the way her face looked that she was usually so much more like Naruto, with a bright smile plastered on tan skin but the day’s events had stripped her of that. Sasuke knew better than Naruto did what it was like to be happy one minute and the next have everything that he loved taken away. That was the power of a tragic moment that had changed his life forever.
“Hi Ayame!” called Naruto and Sasuke saw Kin stiffen slightly. She tugged on the sleeve of her hospital scrubs, a pastel blue she didn’t seem like very much.
“Hello Naruto!” replied the woman behind the counter, Ayame the chef and the daughter of the owner, Teuchi, “The usual?
“Three.” He held up fingers and then pointed two of them at Sasuke and Kin.
“Who’s your friend?” asked Ayame looking at Kin, who was apparently half-choking on air, “Are you okay?”
“Uh-eh-uh-eh, I will be if you don’t scream,” stuttered Kin as she turned around to face her. One look at Kin and all the color drained from poor Ayame’s face and she dropped the cooking utensils she had been holding, which crashed loudly to the floor, along with her.
“AYAME!” yelled Naruto as he and Sasuke jumped over the counter to get to the collapsed girl as Kin stood up and leaned forward to look at them.
“I guess technically fainting isn’t screaming,” said Kin and they both looked at her, “It’s a long story. Don’t worry I’ll take care of her.” They looked at her skeptically but Kin didn’t seem to either notice or care and she lofted herself over the bar, lifted Ayame up and took her outside back behind the bar. She locked the door behind her and so Sasuke and Naruto had to leave through the main door to get to her and when they got there Ayame was awake and they were talking. Rather than interrupting, Sasuke held Naruto back and they eavesdropped.
“You’re dead!” yelled Ayame.
“Not so much actually,” said Kin.
“I was at your funeral!”
“It was a little premature.”
“I don’t understand – you look.”
“I don’t quite understand it myself.” Silence fell briefly upon their conversation.
“Does he know?”
“No.”
“You’re going to tell him aren’t you?”
“I want to but I promised grandmother that I wouldn’t. Besides as much as I hate to admit it she had a point. I did just basically rise from the dead, the last thing he needs is me just blurting out all of the secrets that have been kept from him all these years. Dad had a reason for not wanting him to know and I have to know what that reason is before I tell him anything, not matter how much it hurts me.”
“Did she tell you what happened to your father?”
“Yeah,” said Kin, the sorrow so evident in her voice, “And Kushina and Ita-.” She broke out into sobs.
“I’m so sorry, Kin.”
“What she said that he did – she wasn’t lying was she?”
“No.”
“Fuck it all; that bastard.”
“I never really understood. He was your teammate right? That’s all?”
“Huh?”
“There were rumors about the two of you, after you disappeared. He changed so much.”
“It wasn’t because of me. We were just teammates.”
“You wouldn’t be lying would you?”
“It’s me, Ayame. What do you think?” asked Kin and Ayame groaned, “Well we better get back I am starving.” She stood up and walked inside leaving Ayame sitting on the ground alone.
“I think you’re lying.” Sasuke and Naruto ducked back inside quickly, actually beating Kin, who taken a few moments to collect herself and in fact by the time she made her way back to seat Ayame was back behind the counter with Teuchi looking at her worriedly.
“Ayame, dear, are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” said Teuchi.
“That’s because she has old man,” said Kin as she pushed the cloth sign out of her way and sat back down next to Naruto as Teuchi watched her sputtering.
“Oh it’s her,” said Ayame, “Don’t ask. It’ll be easier if you just accept it.” Teuchi nodded.
“Ninjas,” he muttered under his breath.
“Hi, Ossan, what are the chances that you can remember what my usual was?”
“Shoyu? Don’t go easy on the spices?”
“I’m impressed,” said Kin.
“Don’t be – it’s his too,” said Teuchi pointing to Naruto with a large spoon.
“Really?” Naruto smiled sheepishly at her.
“Yeah, most people can’t stand it though,” he said, pointing to Sasuke who responded with a glare.
“Don’t see why not, it’s the best!”
“Yeah, dattebayo!” Kin laughed softly as the noodles were set down in front of them. They dug in and within a few minutes she and Naruto ended up having an eating contest, which ended in a surprising tie.
“Losers,” said Sasuke.
“You’re just sore because you came in third,” said Naruto, sticking his tongue out at Sasuke. Kin chuckled and yawned.
“Time to get going then?” asked Sasuke and she nodded silently. And so they made their way to Naruto’s tiny apartment.
“This is where you live?” asked Kin.
“I know it’s not much.”
“It feels like a home,” said Kin with a smile, “Although I was expecting a little bit more of this home considering -.” She stopped midsentence.
“Considering what?”
“Nothing, never mind, just forget that I said anything. Are you happy?”
“Huh?”
“Sorry I have a tendency to just blurt out things.”
“Naruto has that same annoying tendency.” Naruto punched him in the shoulder.
“Really?”
“Yeah.” Kin smiled at him and he went about gathering what he was going to need most immediately. After that they made their way to the Uchiha Mansion in silence. Kin getting progressively more uncomfortable the closer they got. When they stood at the main doors Sasuke could actually feel her break down at the sight of it. He wasn’t sure why but it was so similar to how he felt every time he came home. There were too many memories. She shivered and took a ragged breath.
“Are you okay?” asked Naruto.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?” She led the way into the mansion and reached over and flicked on the light.
“Are you tired?” asked Sasuke and she nodded, “Then I’ll show you to your room.” She followed him up a grand spiral stair case with Naruto right behind her, dragging his bags. He led them to one of the guest rooms. She looked around awkwardly for a minute, so obviously shaking in discomfort from being there. Her whole body seemed to loathe its location.
“I have to go to the bathroom,” she said shakily before rushing out the door. Realizing she might get lost, Sasuke stuck his head to tell her where the bathroom was but before the words left his mouth she had wrenched opened the correct door and slammed it closed behind her leaving him wondering silently.

Chapter Three: Here

Here is Chapter Three:
Sorry it has been a while for this fic.....life sucks

Tsunade has order the mysterious girl, Kin, to move in with Naruto and Sasuke after she found out her whole family is dead. Throughout this chapter it is revealed that Kin knows Kakashi and Iruka as well as the people who run the ramen stall that Naruto loves.

Author’s note: I don’t own Naruto and if I did, Sasuke and Naruto would do nothing but go at it like bunnies….okay a special note – I know that Itachi is really only like 4 years older than Sasuke but for the purposes of my own creation I basically have to make him old enough to almost be Sasuke’s dad (16 year difference instead) Also Kin means “golden in Japanese” I thought it was cool. Also I apologize for any special four letter words…
